Going to make my purchase and have narrowed it down to a Garmin 340, or a
Garmin350 or a TomTom one xl. Need some help folks?

Do you mean the C340 vs the Nuvi 350?
I wouldn't picked either --but since you did, they're pretty much the same
except for the Nuvi 350 has MP3 play capabilities (plus displaying pictures,
audio book player, etc. --none needed for navigation obviously).

Aesthetic, I like the 350 better and it is also lighter. The 350 also has a
high-sensitivity receiver. The 340 to me looks more "old-fashioned" ..

I was never a proponent of the TomTom --so no opinion on that..

I'd go with the nuvi. The StreetPilot c340 is older technology and
should be last on the list.

Hi,
Unless you need it right now, whatever you choose, after X-mas
price will be much better.

Remember, TT is a navigator from known place (street) to known place,
if this place is more than +-200 meters away from a known
path/street/lane/freeway it will not calculate a route to this place,
even if this is a waypoint made with the same TT.
Also it does not make a track.
It is working perfect from street to street al over the Us
