I admit it I'm dumb and confused! Where is MapSource? They sent me a City
Navigator map update for N America but I could not find in on that cd. Could
not find it on the users manual cd either. Looked at the Garmin site and they
mention it but where is it? Is there a site that would help me? Thanks but I
am whipped on this!

When you open City Navigator it will open in MapSource. If you had
other software like Garmin Topo you could use a dropdown box to switch
from City Navigator to Topo. MapSource is the platform. If you have CN
open, you have MapSource open.

Not to argue with what Rich says, but if the OP has a update DVD for a
preloaded product, I think it wants to find and update a USB connected
GPS receiver, not install the product to a PC.

There have been a couple of threads here about using the updates for
preloaded receivers. It seems to sort of complicated, poorly explained,
or something to that effect.

I've never updated a preloaded receiver and don't know anything more
about it.

I haven't installed MapSource for many years but keep upgrading from the
same old MapSource came with my StreetPilot Mono (II?). But before doing
dumb and confused I would suggest to try to install whatever they sent you
to the computer, because none MapSource street level map will work without
the Main MapSource program (the front-end).

And I just don't know why Garmin doesn't make the stinky original
MapSource available for customers, because not many non-Garmin user cares
for the stinky MapSource they can't use.
