How to delete City Navigator from the Garmin

| Hi, tried the manual and Garmin's website FAQs is down.
I want to delete the map but can see no way of doing it from Mapsource
or from the Garmin itself.
Appreciate your help.

Upload an empty map set. You cannot just delete the maps from the unit.

| From the MapSource User's manual:
To add or remove specific coverage areas:
1 insert the mapsource insallation disk into your computer disk drive. The
instalshield wizard opens. click NEXT
2. Select MODIFY and click NEXT
3Se;ect tjhe areas you want to add or remove. Click NEXT
4 Follow the additional instructions to modify MAPSOURCE
You can remove any mapsource product from your computer without using the
mapsource installation disks.
Use settings in the control panel--add/remove programs. Highlight mapsource
and click CHANGE/REMOVE
4. follow th instructions to remove MAPSOURCE
Thats all the manual wrote!

What Garmin?
From main memory or from a memory card?
Preloaded maps or supplemental maps?
For supplemental maps, they are usually stored in a file named
gmapsupp.img in a folder named \garmin that is off the root of the card.
If you can find a file with that name you might try deleting that.
I'd probably just rename it first. If the maps are then missing from
the Garmin and the GPS is still working to your satisfaction, you'll
know it is safe to delete the file.
