Turning tracks into routes?

| Garmin Mapsource appears to have no way to turn loaded tracks
("breadcrumb" trails) up loaded from a GPS into routes?
Anyone know how? Much appreciated!

I'm assuming it is a follow roads track.
Make sure you have Auto-routing turned on in the Routing tab of the
Preferences menu.
Click on the beginning and end of the track with the Waypoint tool.
Then click on those waypoints, in the same order, with the Route tool.
That will give you a route.
If the route does not follow the track, click on the first road you want
to use that it did not use with the Waypoint tool and add that waypoint
to the route from the Route properties menu. It will recalculate the
route again. You might have to move the waypoint to get it to use the
new road but not double back to the previous route.
Continue the process until the route follows the track.
Another way is to simply use the Route tool and click on spots along the
track. Doing it that way will give you a route with via points instead
of waypoints and sometimes the route will not be the same when it is
activated on the GPS receiver.

| Thanks Jack. I figured that one out myself but thought there might
have been a simple method ofconverting the tracks into routes. Some
option hidden away in a menu. I notice the Garmin routing tool leaves
a lot to be desired!!. I have tried all the variations in the setup
menu but it still comes up with routes between waypoints that are at
best laughable!
All the best for Xmas from downunder.

g7toWin offers a conversion from track to route and vice-versa.
G7toWin http://www.gpsinformation.org/ronh/
It works with gpx files that can be saved and opened in Mapsource.
