Does anyone know if the c530 has the Media Tek chip or the SiRF III ?
It seems to perform very well under difficult conditions.

If it does not have the SiRF logo at the bottom o the product page, it
is not being used. The MediaTek chip set is generally referred to as a
"high-sensitivity" GPS receiver.

Apparently MediaTek does not deserve mention by name yet. Maybe that
would have cost extra?

According the the tech spec page at
http://www.garmin.com/products/sp530/spec.html it has the SiRFstarIII
chipset.
