Author 60CSx auto routing?
mbango

For some reason I can't figure out how to get my GPSMAP 60CSx to give
me auto routing. Whenever I use navigate it creates a straight line
for me. I was under the impression that this device would auto route
for me. I have the metroguide 7 maps, so I know I have the detail I
need. What do I need to do to get the auto routing working?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks

When autorouting you get the choice to follow the road(s) Now it will
function as required. But the autorouting depends on the map you use.
E.G. Topomaps won't autoroute.

It asks "Follow road" or "Off road". Follow road will give you turn
by turn, off road is just a straight line. If you selected "always
do this", it won't ask again. In that case you'll have to find the
setting in the menu or options somewhere, and change it back to
"ask".

MetroGuide versions V5 and higher will not autoroute on maps uploaded to
a GPS. It will only autoroute on the installation on a PC.

If you turn off the MetroGuide maps on your GPS, you'll note that your
GPS will autoroute on the basemap roads. There are some settings that,
depending on how they are set, can keep the 60CSx from autorouting but
it is capable of it.

There is a process that will enable the autorouting on uploaded
MetroGuide maps though. It is a little technical but it will work.
Here are a couple of links with more info on that:

As I also posted recently, I have Topo Great Britain preloaded on my 60CSx
and it *does* full autorouting.

Metroguide Europe does autorouting on PC, but does *not* allow autorouting
on the 60CSx unless you do a "patch/crack". See one of my earlier posts for
details.

I don't own 60CSx but if you use a auto-routing map and it only give you a
straight line then I am guessing you happen to select "OFF ROAD". If so,
then try either "Fastest" or "Shortest" option then it should auto-route.

Topo Holland, Belgium and Germany don't support autorouting :-(
The autorouting is done with the general map of the CSx 60

Were these Topos supplied preloaded on a microSD
or
on CD/DVD then loaded onto the 60Csx?

These all are CD loaded.
The Topo Germany shows the names of all the streets on the CSx. Even the
smallest ones :-)
