Author C300 + SD Card?

I used the Garmin PoiLoader to load custom POI's onto an SD card, but
when I plug the card into my C330, I don't see the custom POI's. Is
there something I'm missing? Some trick?

Thanks,

Bill

You don't load them on an SD card. They only take maps. In the meantime,
here's a site that's great for POi's. I've downloaded and installed different
offerings. You might want to consider signing up as well.

To save a bit of time nosing around the POi Factory site, here's a list of more
downloadable POi's than you care to imagine!

Thanks, Budman. I was afraid that was the case. What happens when you
fill the main memort of the C330? SOL?

I had found that site and wanted to create some custom ones of my own.

I dunno. I haven't filled mine yet. I have a lot of POi's loaded that I'm sure
take up a fair bit of "room". For example, in conjunction with all the POi's
that are loaded from Garmin, I have:

-All the Cracker Barrel restaurants
-All Flying J fuel stations (I have a diesel engine & they usually are best $)
-Redlight cameras
-All NASCAR tracks!
-And last, but not least, (being Canadian) ALL the Tim Hortons coffee shops!

So, as you can see, I'm not SOL quite yet.

Thanks again. I guess I'll just start putting some together and see
what happens. I may email Garmin to see if they can give me an idea
how much "spare" memory is available. I did get a reply from them
saying there's no way to use the SD card for anything but maps.

I get all the hockey games (I'm watching Colorado vs Calgary right
now) and see Tim Hortons advertised on the games from up north.

Go to the following: http://www.poi-factory.com/node/550

Also cut & paste the URL from the last message for yet even more info.

When using the Garmin POILoader, you can adjust your own proximity alerts by
selecting "Manual" instead of "Express (recommended). I had to set the Tim
Horton alerts to about 50 feet because the "Express" distance had the thing
going off constantly. We have Tim's here like you have Starbucks. On every
corner and in between! 99.9% have a drive-thru but I just have the alerts going
off as a novelty. Give me an A&W coffee anyday.

I received a reply to my query (although it took two tries) and here's
what it said' "Thank you for contacting Garmin International. I will
be happy to help you with this. 3mb is allowed for custom POI's."

Cheers,
