GPS II is it worth using?
|

| I've had a GPS 2 in a drawer for maybe 10 years. Yesterday I tried to use
it, but it could'nt find any satellites. Does anyone know if it still should
work or if it's worth using anymore?

Put it somewhere with free view of the sky, turn it on, and leave it
there for like 15 minutes.
It knows nothing about where the satellites are anymore, so it will
need time to get all it's data updated. The data are broadcast
periodically from the satellite, how often depends on how often the
data changes, but after 10 years you'll need to get all of it.
If it has a menu point like "I've moved this GPS to a different part
of the world", you can speed the process up a bit by selecting that. It
simply tells the GPS that the data it has is invalid, so don't even try
to use it to find the satellites.

| Thanks!
it really took a long time before it woke up. But now it's up and running.
