Does anyone there know if it is possible and if how, to transfer the track
stored in the tracklog from my GPS II to PC?

That is a non-mapping receiver so I guess you don't have a MapSource
application? If not, you can try one of the third party applications
from this link:

EasyGPS, ExpertGPS, G7toWin, GPSBabel, GPSTrackmaker, and GPS Utility
are all softwares there that I have used at various times and with
various receivers.
I use mostly GPS Utility now because it is very versatile and has a lot
of features. I finally decided to buy and learn one good one instead of
messing with a bunch of different ones.
You'll need a serial cable to connect to your PC. If you have a newer
PC without a hardware RS-232 serial (COM) port, you may also need a
serial to USB adapter. Ask back here on that and we can fill you in on
the details on all that.

If you haven't used ExpertGPS in a while, I suggest you try out the
recent versions such as 2.4.1. I also have GPS Utility but it doesn't
have the mapping capabilities I want. I hope GPS Trackmaker gets full
support of GPX Overlay and GPX Style some day.
