Since it's a CX, not a CSX, this also assumes you are moving in some
direction, or it may erratically flip around.

Not so. In the Etrex line the models don't follow the Cx/CSx naming
protocol. The Vista Cx does indeed have a magnetic compass.

Of course. I'm sorry, I read it a bit too quick. The Legend CX
wouldn't have any magnetic compass.
My comment is true for the GPSMAP 60 and 76 series.
