Remote control eTrex from PC

| I have a Garmin eTrex Venture in which I recently smashed the display
(long story, something about a hatch in an APC). It appears to be
working perfectly connected to a computer, exept for the display. Now
I am looking for an application that can remote control the GPS. I can
find plenty of programs to up- and download waypoints, routes and
tracklogs, but not much more than that.
What I would really like to find is a program that mimics the
interface from the GPS on the PC, complete with the same screens, etc.
Just like some of you might have seen done with some of the more
advanced calculators from Texas Instruments.
If that does not exist (I think I would have found it by now if it
did, but please surprise me), then just a program to access the setup-
menus and to edit the waypoint on the device, to clear the tracklogs,
that sort of stuff. Anyone who knows a utility for that?

Not exactly what you're asking for, but G7toWIN has a feature of
downloading the current appearance of the screen on most Garmin
models. That would let you see what the screen would be showing if it
weren't smashed and you could then use the normal control buttons on
the unit to do whatever you want.

Thank you. It'll do for my purposes.
