Geocaching with nuvi 360

| Does anyone have any pointers for geocaching with a nuvi 360?
Like tracking software, nuvi settings, etc.?
I tried EasyGPS and GSAK but neither would communicate with the
device.

I should have added that I'm new to GPS activities.
All I know so far is that I set the device to Pedestrian and Off Road
once near the cache coordinates. But I know that there's so much more
to the hobby than what I can guess. Adding to that I know that the
Nuvi isn't the geocaching device of choice, but it should work fine to
find the treasure. I would appreciate advice as to how to record finds
and whatnot.
Anyone?

Can you load waypoints to it? If so, you should be able to geocache,
but it won't have a Geocaching mode. You should log on to the forums
at http://geocaching.com for more help. They are here:
http://forums.groundspeak.com/gc/
As someone on the forums pointed out when asked if the Nuvi was
appropriate, it would be an expensive thing to replace if you lost it
while caching. You'd be better off buying a Legend to cache with.

Thanks for the reply. I'll peruse the geocaching forums but I don't
really want to by another unit just for one purpose. Unless I get
hooked once I figure it out, that is. I'm not worried about losing the
nuvi while caching. It was too expensive to just lose control of it.

Really? What's wrong with you? ;) I have a 60C, a 60CSx and a
Forerunner 201 and my wife has a 76S and 76CSx.
There's no such thing as too many GPSs!

Hahaha I have 3 Garmin GPSes myself, but it's sad that they are all older
models. I really like to upgrade mine, but I have lot of problem with
Garmin marketing as they release so many different newer models in very
short time, and besides the MAP most units have different hardware designed
and that worry me. Like, one has internal/external memory, one has SD/CF
memory card, one has FM/XM radio, one uses NT and other uses other format,
one has internet/external antenna and so on. I mean the company can't even
make up its mind about the best united design and choice etc.
But I am pretty sure that I won't go with pre-loaded map, or I want to
have the option to upgrade to newer map to external memory card.

EasyGPS will save *.GPX files though - you can drag these into you
garmin/waypoints (or is it farmin/gpx?) folder on your GPS to have them
added as FAVOURITES, otherwise use POI Loader from the Garmin website to
store them as POIs. This is what I do with EasyGPS - set them as 10kmph
speed POIs and that way they ding if I ever drive past one!
As I get close, I move the cursor so it points at the cache location and
make sure the middle of my "car" is at the point of the cursor.
(Ped mode and/or? OFF Road (Navigation settings) are good if it's close to a
real road.)
Not the easiest, but there are ways around things! :)
Cheers!

That's the kind of reply I was hoping for. Thank you. Actually, I
found EasyGPS and uploaded the .gpx files to Garmin\POI. It puts them
in the favorites section. I'll have to figure out how to set them
10kph speed POIs so I can get that ding. And I think I understand what
you mean about moving the cursor. I'll play with that idea and see how
it works for me.
Thanks again.
