Hello,
I recently purchased a 2gig SD card for my c340.
My question as being very new with this device is,
now that I have the memory card what can I do with it?

Thanks

I did look in the manual and the slot is for extra maps. Doesn't explain
more than that.

Not being familiar with your model, I presume that it follows the same
pattern as the "x" series of hand heleds. For these, the external memory
card is used to store map information, such a topo map inforamtion or
street information. To access the external memory, you will need trip and
Waypoint Manager plus the MapSource product for what you are doing.

Again, I am not familiar with the c340, but Trip and Waypoint Manager comes
bundled with some units and must be purchased for other units. For outdoors
navigation, the US (or your home area if different) Topo Map series is a god
choice. For select areas, a higher resolution version is also available. For
navigation around urban areas, you may opt for CityNavigator or MetroGuide
for your area. These are *in addition* to Trip and Waypoint manager. Either
look at Garmin's website top see what choices are appropriate for your needs
or go back to the stroe you got the unit from and talk with the people
there.
