Which City Navigator maps on GPSMAP 60CSx, NT or non NT

| Which City Navigator maps should I use on the GPSMAP 60CSx? The Danish
distributor tells me that I can't use NT maps like MapSource City
Navigator Europe NT (only non NT maps), but according to garmin.com
the GPSMAP 60CSx should be able to use NT maps.
I'm thinking about buying microSD data card, City Navigator NT, Europe
(or Nordics).
Any experience with these kinds of maps in GPSMAP 60CSx?

I have CN Europe NT loaded on a 76Cx. The 76Cx can use either the NT or the
non-NT versions. Since I understand that the 60Cx has the same internals, I
don't see why NT wouldn't also work in the 60.

There's no need to guess; Garmin's own Web site shows which maps work
with which receivers.
Go to http://www.garmin.com/cartography/ and look under "MapSource
Compatibility".
To save you the trip, the 60CSx accepts the NT versions of City
Navigator products.

This isn't always true and accurate though - City Select* maps work on
a 26x0 but they don't list them.
I believe the Metroguide maps work too, just without autorouting (for
which there is a hack...)
It seems they like to advertise only the most expensive product as
being compatible for some of their products.
* yes, I know they've now merged them with the City Nav version, and
drastically reduced the price.

Maybe so, but if the map product is listed (as it is in this case),
it should work.

They don't list them because they are no longer available however they
were never recommended for the 26x0 units.

That is correct.

Actually they recommend the correct product with the most functionality
for the product, not necessarily the most expensive.

Long time no see...

IIRC they used to advertise Metroguide as being compatible - perhaps
you can explain how that got in, when both CS and CN had more
functionality and work perfectly on the hardware.

I don't believe GARMIN ever advertised MetroGuide for the 2610 although
it is compatible but with very crippling results.

Not all versions are crippling. I like MetroGuide 3.02 because it will
autoroute and it also was the last version with the extra details found
in the Tele-Atlas data that are not in the NavTeq data.
Tele-Atlas has a lot more hills and mountains, more and smaller bodies
of water. Even the occasional seasonal or secondary road like fire
service or power and gas line service roads. And railroads, 3.02 has a
lot of railroads and what are now in some cases abandoned railroad
rights of way.
I noticed something interesting about the 2610 the other day. If I
create a route on my 2610 with City Navigator V8, then turn off the CN
V8 mapping, leaving the U.S. Topo mapping on, I can still see and follow
the magenta line of the route from CN V8 route superimposed over the
topo details. Kind of interesting because you get all the elevations
and stuff.
If there is a road on the topo detail I am, of course, using the same
road that CN V8 did, if there is no road I still get turning
instructions and can just follow the magenta line.

I have MetroGuide version 4.02 which also used Tele Atlas data and
auto-routes. Version 5 used Navteq data.
The road data that I've seen in MetroGuide version 4, that
was removed from version 6, often matches the road data in
USGS 1:100,000 scale maps and found on TopoUSA. In some cases
around here, those roads no longer exist or have been re-routed.
So some of the detail lost in MetroGuide version 5 and later
can be found in TopoUSA although without auto-routing.
