I don't consider this a cosmetic preference - there are real reasons
to choose one over the other and the better informed you are before
choosing one or the other, the happier you'll be with your decision.

For instance, on my BMW R1150GS I don't want too much to get in the
way of the instruments so the smaller size of the 60 fits well. On my
wife's 750 Ducati Supersport we had to mount the 76S, or 76CSx as they
are the same form factor, outside the fairing and instrument area
because the gps was obscuring too much. Either works well the way we
have them mounted, and we're both happy, but we wouldn't switch.

That's just how particular you become of the style you prefer.
