The memory card (not chip in the x) is replacable with a bigger one, up
to at least 2 GB. And you get the newer SIRFstar 3 chipset, with much
better reception.

Thanks very much for that Kent.
So in your opinion it would be worth upgrading to the 'x' model?

Only if you find yourself lacking one or both of the new features. Like
if you spend lot of times uploading different maps, a bigger memory
card with all of Europe or North America might be worth the money. Or
if you often find yourself lost in forests with reception problems
(not sure how big the SIRFstar 3 improvements is for skyscraper
"shadows").

In short, it depends on your needs vs. available money.

Thankfully money is not a problem (to an extent) but I would like better
coverage in wooded areas (Scotland has a lot of woods !)
I'm going to sell my (new) MAP76cs on Amazon for £245 British Pounds as it
si fully boxed and actually looks brand new (I tend to be REALLY careful
with all my 'toys' knowing that one day I will want to sell them, So in all
when the 76 is sold I'll get the CSX.
Thanks again for your guidance which has proved very useful.
