60c Track upload/download

| When I download tracks to Mapsource all points are downloaded (i.e. 850).
When I upload the tracks are truncated with a lot of the tracks missing. The
only way seems to be to reduce the tracklog in Mapsource to 100 points &
upload to 60c..Is there any way of reproducing the tracks in their original
state ?? Many thanks. Sys

In the open MapSource file, right click on the saved track, pick "track
properties". Change the name of the track to "Active Log" (without the
quotation marks). MapSource or EasyGPS will now send all the trackpoints
to the units memory (it will show up as a certain % of the available track
memory). Now you can save it, if desired.

OK, that was poorly worded. After you rename the track in MapSource you can
immediately send all the track points to the GPSr. If you want to use
EasyGPS, you must first save the MapSource track file as a .gpx file type so
it can be recognized by EasyGPS. EasyGPS does not recognize the .gdb file
format.

Maybe related to the question you ask. In last years update to the 60csx
firmware there appeared an option to log all data points to the memory
card. This is good because as soon as you save a track, as it is saved
it is reduced and "optimized" to a maximum of 500 points (500 is default
anyway). In my trail mapping this made for much lumpier curves. The
logging takes up very little memory. Also , if you use mapsource to
download the active data (that was never saved) it will be uncompressed.

I didn't bring that up since the OP indicated he had a 60C, which has no
data card. It is a nice feature of the "x" models.
