I take my Garmin 340 through security all the time. They used to
question it early on when there were not many people carrying these on-
board, but now they are familiar with the device and they pass it
through. X-rays should not harm the GPS reciever and more than any
laptop computer. The only time there has been a recent issue is the
bean bag mount can look strange to the inspector, but even this has
not been a recent problem.
