76cs and Mapsource

| After spending ages mapping a route in Mapsource, then uploading to my
76CS. then selecting it on my. GPS and selecting "Navigate" The GPS
calculates another route which is totally unusable. How do I make it
just display the route I have devised on my PC and not calulate what
it thinks I want? The purple lines just disapear in a straight line
and do not follow the roads. It's a waste of time if you what it to
give you turn by turn directions. Am I doing something wrong?

First, are you using detailed, routable maps like City Navigator or City
Select? If so, when you sent the maps to the GPS did you check the little
box that said "Included Route Calculation Data" in the map list on the left
of the page? If you are using only the base map, it doesn't have many roads
on which to calculate a route.

A setting on my 76c selects follow roads or direct line type route.
Also a complete delete of all waypoints,maps,route
s prior to the reload
always solved your type issues for me. Also be sure to STOP navigation on
last route used
before cleaning memory out.
