| I bought one from Future Shop online.
It worked like a treat for 30 minutes.
Since then, it simply will not acquire any satellites.
Is there anything I can try before sending it back?
I know from reading various user groups that this is most likely a poor
solder joint somewhere, but if there is any other possibility I can try
I'd like to do that, rather than waiting the 2 weeks plus to get a
replacement.

Try a hard reset behind the face plate.
