| I see on the Garmin Map Update site that CityNavigator North America
and NT version 8 are missing. Could this mean Garmin is getting ready
to release version 9?

Yes. No more updates to v8. I believe they said the beginning of August
for the release.

Yes, they are. I talked to a tech support person about a week ago and
she said that it would be released "later this summer". And that it
might be called City Navigator 2008 instead of CN V9.

I don't think the care what version you gonna upgrade from $75 a pop is
all they care. Hmmm I wonder how we upgrade from pre-loaded?

I didn't expect of getting 2008 version til after I bought it. Yes, I =
did
read about the next v9 will be called 2008, and I found out it comes with
2008 version on the 2nd day when I checked for Bluetooth version ... but =
the
whole thing is too new (too much to learn) for me to get exited (yet).

It's not unusual for new City Nav version to show
up in new units before they are available as upgrades.
I also read in another newsgroup or forum that
with CN 2008 they will no longer provide two
unlocks on one license but require payment for
each unlock. Sure hope that is bad data.
