This is for Garmin 60csx. I got the 2GB Kingston MicroSD memory card
and attempted to downloa the entire "East coast" (CD 2/3). It failed
and said that it was unable to write all the data, exceeding size.
The selected maps took about 600MB.
How is that possible, if the memory card is 2GB.

How many map segments? I believe the limit is
2024 or so.

With City Navigator I can load 1.9+ GB into a 2 GB
card for my 60Cx, so it does not seem to be a
memory limit. But CN8 has very large map
segments. Not sure about whatever map set you
have (Mapsource is the PC software, so I'm
speculating that you mean either Metroguide or
U.S. Topo East .. likely since U.S. Topo comes on
three CDs and has *very* small map segments).

Found on a Forum (re. U.S Topo): " . . . the limit
is 2025 if I remember the
number right. Those three CD's total out at 4047"

So I think you are hitting the segment limit.
Disk 2 may have the most segments -- Disk 3
(Alaska - Hawaii) relatively few.

Check your load in Mapsource; I think it will tell
you how many segments you have selected.

Does the 2GB memory card have anything in it? Also, many if not most
people don't call the street_level_map MAPSOURCE as MapSource is the
front-end program for all street_level_maps (it can be City Select, City
Navigator, MetroGuide, Topo, R&L Creation, Blue Chart, World Map etc..)

I'm sure he is using U.S Topo (comes on three CDs
and #2 is East) -- *not* the driving maps.

Problem is likely that he is reaching the segment
limit per my earlier msgs.
