i just purchaced a 2730 gps. it came with v7 software. i called garmin and was told i can download a free update. that was on 5/20/07. on 6/20 i tried to get the software and it wasn't on there site. i called and was on hold for 15 min and when i spoke to the rep i was told they nolonger give a free update. they don't have v8 anymore and v9 is not out yet. they want $75 for the update when it comes out. i canned the dealer i purchaced from and was told that they will get back to me in one or two days.
