Have a 370 in Florida, USA. Fuse info is "Fuse AGC/3AG 2 amp high breaking
capacity 1500mAmp rated, Located at tip of vehicle adapter."

Must a replacement have both designations (AGC and 3AG)?
Will any 2 amp 1500mAmp rated fuse work?

Thanks for your thoughts/experience with this.

Jay

Jay-

Did your fuse blow? If so, there could be a defect in your 370, which
would blow a replacement fuse as well.

The two fuse types AGC and 3AG, are two different companies designations
for the same fuse. This is a very common style, and should be available
from many hardware and auto supply stores, as well as stores like
Walmart, Sears and KMart.

As I recall, it is about 1/4 inch diameter and 1 1/4 inch long. It is a
glass tube with metal end caps, with the fuse wire connected between the
two end caps. Some other fuse with the same size and current rating
might have a different time delay. For example, I think there is a
"3AG-SB" fuse of the same size, but slow to blow. Such a fuse might be
needed when a device requires a high start-up current, but settles back
to a lower current when running. Other devices such as a GPS, might be
very sensitive to over-current, so you would not want to use the SB
(Slow-Blow) fuse with them.

You can't go wrong if you get either an AGC or 3AG fuse, with the same
Ampere rating as the original. From what you say, that would be 2 Amps.
(The 1500mAmp rating should be common to any fuse in the AGC or 3AG
series.)

Nope. Fuse didn't blow, but one of the tips I picked up from newsgroups and
the like was that it would be handy to have replacement fuses available, and
I want to buy a couple, hoping never to use them.

Thanks for reply on different designations.
