Judging from the comments on the various newsgroups, it looks like
Garmin revamped their Web site and the ordering process a week or so
ago, and I got in just before the switch.
After I received my upgrade DVD, I was unable to get it unlocked at
first; my.garmin.com had no record of me. I was flailing around for a
while and started down the registration path when it suddenly presented
me with a list of my unlocked products and allowed me to buy an unlock
code for CN NA 2008.
Considering that many of Garmin's current map products are useless
without the unlock codes, I found this all very unsettling.
