XM / StreetPilot and Toll Collection Devices?
|

| I have a StreetPilot 2730, which also uses the XM 30 antenna.
I'm thinking of getting an E-Z Pass toll collection device. But the
instructions talk about people with metalized windshields (which I don't
have) needing a different type of transponder, but also mention that GPS
can be a problem.
Are they referring to some sort of in-glass GPS antenna, or would
aftermarket devices also be a problem? It's not clear what frequency
the system uses (and what impact a GPS *receiver* would have even if it
were the same frequency).
Has anybody used an E-Z Pass or I-Pass with a 27xx series and XM
successfully?
Thanks in advance.

| What the instructions are trying to say is that a metallic windshield can
adversely affect both E-Z Pass toll devices and GPSs. I've neither observed
nor heard of any conflicts between E-Z Pass devices and GPSs. I've used an
E-Z Pass toll device around a number of Garmin GPSs for years with no
trouble.

Thanks, JB, that makes sense (unlike what they wrote).
