Author Nuvi 250 update keeps prompting for it
Stefano Ferrante

I downloaded the latest software update for my Nuvi 250 (released on July
18th) via the web updater utility.

The whole process completes successfully but everytime I run the webupdater
it keeps prompting me for the same update (2.90) again.

Does anyone know why this happens and how to fix it?

My os is winxp pro sp2 fully patched.

Tia,

Stefano

Something is wrong with the WebUpdate server. I'm getting solid
communications errors trying to connect with it.

Now it's working again.

Mmhhh...in this case...it should not even be able to find any update at all,
or not?

Instead...I am able to find and install it but even after disconnecting the
nuvi and rebooting the pc I am still able to find a *new* software version

If you look at the Nuvi About screen, does it say the 2.90 loaded?

On my 650 it's Setttings -> System -> About.

It says:

Software version 2.40
Gps software version 2.90s

Therefore the only updated version is the gps related (and what about the
general version 2.40?)

But *if* this is normal, why does web updater say that an update is
available?

Is your general version of the software different than mine?
