Updating maps on the i5

I see that Citynav 2008 NT is available and the i-series Streetpilots are
listed as compatible. However there is this confusing disclaimer that the
DVD cannot be used to update the preloaded maps ... that's what the i5 has!
What, exactly, then, would the DVD do for an i5 owner? Would they have to
load Transflash card into the unit and use that for the update -
essentially turning the i5 into an i3 to update the maps? I'm confused,
and wondering whether it's worth putting more money into this unit.

It might mean you are looking at the non NT version, also you need the" 2008
NT upgrade CD " to upgrade the maps on your unit.

This is part# 010-10816-00.
"Note: You cannot use this product to update the maps on your preloaded
Garmin device. To order updated map data for your preloaded Garmin device,
visit the Map Updates page."
When I go to that page and enter my serial number, the first displayed
choice is "Map Update 2008 City Navigator North America NT".
