Or else it's a radical departure from Garmin's previously
consumer-friendly customer service.
When I bought my "new, old stock" Garmin Quest, it came with an outdated
map. I believe that when I bought it I immediately got the code for the
mapping software that came with it, played with the unit a bit and
then called Garmin seeking an update to the current version of mapping.
The CSR listened to my explanation of the recent purchase of this NOS
unit, looked at my account, saw that the software had JUST been unlocked
and immediately sent out the software and unlock codes providing me with
the then-current map software.
If enough of us complain, maybe they'll revisit the "good old days" or
not...<g>
Hey! Pawlowski, you wood butcher. You need a GPS in your shop?<g>
