Topo 2008 upgrade bummer

| I bought US Topo with my GPSMap 60CSx May 4th. Last week I find out
about Topo 2008 and ask Garmin about an upgrade. Response from
Garmin:
"Thank you for contacting Garmin International,
Since it has been a few months, you would need to purchase the full
version of the Topo 2008 program to receive the updated maps."
So I have to pay $100 to upgrade a $100 package I have had for three
months. Bummer.

| I had the same thing, I got the then-current Mapsource topo just 6
weeks ago.
There no possibility of upgrading to 2008, nor any rebates aside from
what's available
on the web site.
Mapsource is a horrible product to be sure. Outdated, just plain wrong
maps, roads
shown in the wrong place and the error is 1/4 mile off. Worst of all,
you have to insert
the CD every time you download data from your device.
Not sure how many of these issues 2008 Topo fixes. One thing is for
sure, it stays
at that 100K resolution level.

I just bought city navigator from the gar min website and it came in the mail
today and there is already an update and Gar min wants $75.00 for it..
