I'm pretty new to GPSs. I was going through the menus and kept coming
up with "area" calculation of a route. Can anyone explain to me WHY
would I want to use this interesting option?

AREA QUESTIONS

1. How many acres is your field?
2. How big is the lake?
3. How many square miles is the Rattlesnake Fire?
4. How many acre-feet of water came down in the 2" rain yesterday?

Measure the size of a paddock? Know how to charge for spraying (by the
sqr ft/yd/mile/metre/km etc)?

Know much soil to order to cover your lawn?

PS
And if you are really unlucky measure how much material your wife needs
to make a new dress :-)
