Just had to post this. I think I now understand why everyone is having a
problem with Ver 9 upgrade.

Please read the question I asked and then the response I got from Garmin.
Have asked them to answer the question again as the answer I was given makes
no sense at all.

Here is the question I asked:

Ordered City Navigator NT Ver 8 on 22 June. Received the DVD from
you on 10 July. Read in a newsgroup last night that Ver 9 has just been
released. Having had this DVD for less than 3 weeks, what is
your upgrade policy on this software? Sam Moore

Here is the reply I received from Garmin:

Dear Samuel Moore,

Thank you for contacting Garmin International,

Well you cannot update to v8. And version 8 has not been able to be
updated to for well over a month. So if you got a v8 disk in June you would
not have been able to update to it yet. So you would just need to get
the 2008 or v9 as you called them maps and then update as if you were doing
v8.

With Best Regards,
