Check the INFO or similar (I don't have C340 to know where), then check
with Garmin web site *or* read text message here to know the current
version.

And if you just got the C340 then the chance that it's loaded with City
Navigator 2008, if not you can call Garmin to get it for free. Please =
READ
to learn more so you can enjoy yours more.=20

After the display comes on with the 'Where To' and 'Show Map' bars,
press the wrench icon on the bottom of the screen. On the next screen,
press the Map box. On the third screen, press 'Map Info' on the bottom
of the screen. The Map version will appear. Just Back all the way out
when done.

I also have a C340. I tried to get to the map info as you and others have
stated, but on mine there is no map info button to press.
Any ideas?

Do have a manual? If so, go to page 20.
If not, download the manual in pdf format at the Garmin site:
http://www8.garmin.com/support/user...ct=010-00401-20
or http://tinyurl.com/2awmpr
Cursor down to Owner's Manual and click on Download.

Oddly enough, I do have a manual. And by follow the instructions to the
letter, I still do not get a map info button at the bottom as shown in the
manual.
Weird eh? It is by the way a C340.
Any thoughts?

Both my c330 and c340 had/has the Map Info button there.
Have you been to the Garmin site and looked for any updates to your unit?
Maybe contact Garmin?
