Hi,
In my previous cars I have been able to fix my Quest to the windscreen
using the standard holder & it was able to rest of the top of the
dashboard & was in a decent range of vision for me.

However my new 407 has a very sloping screen and to be fixed to the
windscreen & to rest it on the top of the dashboard places the Quest a
bit further away and the map is a bit more difficult to read -
certainly the street names are too small.

To solve the problem, other than change the car or get a receiver with
a bigger screen any suggestions please as to how I might be able to:
- fit the standard Quest holder onto the central air vent, or
- what adhesive pads might be available that wouldn't damage the
dashboard top?

Maybe this would work.

I mount my Quest at top of the windshield just to the left of the rear view
mirror - high enough so it does not block your view. It's easier to see
there than other unit's with much larger screens sitting on the dash -
easier to reach too. Try it.

Thanks for that.
Looks like just the thing for the job.
Now, nobody else bid on this please!

It doesn't look like you can plug the normal garmin plug into the back
of this unit... you have to use the car power adaptor rather than the
normal adaptor that plugs into the Garmin mount that came with the
Nuvi... in that case the "antenna" used for traffic with some Nuvis
would not be connected...

Hope that is clear...
