| I just updated my c330 with City Navigator North America NT 2008. At the
start of the update I was told there wasn't enough room and I was given a
choice of the lower 48 states or northern US plus Canada. I chose the lower
48. I now have a couple of questions.
First, add I buy a ND card and then reload the total map package? If so,
what are the recommend cards?
Second, if the above isn't an option, can I load the upper US plus Canada at
a later time if I decide to travel there in the future, and then reload the
lower 48 after I return?

No, it won't read maps off a SD card unless it's Addon maps you buy from
Delorme.

You should be able to. Just run the CD and follow the prompts.

If the c330 doesn't have enough memory to hold NT 2008, what will come
loaded on newly mfg units?

Newer units may have a little more hard drive. If I'm reading my screen
right, mine only has 1gb. It's last years' model. It came with V8 on it.

Mine, purchased in early June, also has 1 gig & a slot for a SD card.
It seems to me that as long as it can accept a card large enough to hold the
whole database, there should be some way to do that.
I've sent an email with my question, & will post the response.

Owen the slot is only for SD cards that you purchase from Garmin with
suplement maps, like Europe or the like. You can put some POI's on it
and it will see them. but as far as using the SD slot for additional
hard drive, you can forget it.

There is a thread in the discussion groups at www.poi-factory.com. If
you search on the C330, you will find a long thread on this same problem
about the SD slot.
It seems that only the units that will show up on your computer as an
extra drive are the ones that can read from the SD cards. I think the
C5XX and some of the Nuvis are the ones that do this.
