Hi
Can anyone help a novice try to get started using the above GPS unit?
I have set it up according to instructions given but how do I move on
from here? Can I use it like a pedometer to measure distance from A to
B without having to set up a route? Are there any good online
resources that you could recommend.
One other matter. I recently upgraded to verson 2.70 of the software
but now the red pointer no longer exists. Are both related? Have tried
Garmin for an answer but no response so far.
Regards and thanks to all.
Gerald

Yes. Just flip to the trip meter page, and reset to 0 to start. You can also
save tracks to the memory card (if you have one installed), and upload those
tracks into MapSource, or transfer them via USB to your PC as .gpx files (go
to Setup/Interface to switch to Mass Storage Mode, I think, for this). I
do this to record my bike rides and hikes, and keep a log of where and how
far I've gone.

I haven't done any firmware upgrades, so I'm afraid I can't help you here.

I addition, http://home.online.no/~sigurdhu/New_to_GPS.htm may be of some
interest to you. 8-)
