Your 60Cx will ALWAYS calculate a route, even though you're transferred it
from a PC. Reason - the route itself is not transferred, only the start and
finish points, and any waypoints (VIAs) that you include in your route. The
only known way around this is to include enough VIAs in your PC route so the
60Cx will be forced to go where you want it to. But keep in mind you can
have only 50 VIAs per route if you use the "Follow Roads" option, so you
might have to break up a long route into multiple routes. Also, check your
route setup page (menu key twice > Setup > Routes) to be sure you have all
the options set the way you need them.

As for the tone volume, there is a tone or sounds page under Setup where you
can choose different sounds for different reasons. Some of them are louder
than others, but I don't think there is such a thing as a volume control.

Hope this helps.

How come my GPS-V never said "calculating" when I selected a route from the
Main Menu "Routes" selection?

I've never owned a GPS-V so can't comment on what it does. I just know that
the 76 / 60 C(S(x)) series goes through the route calculation routine.

OK. Thx. It's weird to me that the -V wouldn't indicate that it too was
recalculating, unless somehow Mapsource "knew" to send ALL the points to
the -V, but only MY via points to the 60Cx.
