| I learned something in another forum the other day, thought I'd pass
this on. With the new V2008 update, you cannot load the whole set of
maps to the unit. However, using the Mapinstall program, you can now
upload the remaining data to an SD card using a card reader and have
the rest of the detail available. It will take a 1 gb card to finish.
You must use a card reader, it will not load the maps to the card via
the USB connect cable. So now if you compromised and loaded the
Canada/Northern US maps to the unit, the balance of the US can be
loaded on the SD card.
After installing the data you will just insert the card, start the
unit and it will read the data on it's own, but the card has to be
there from boot up.
If this is just plain as mud, ask and maybe I can clear it up. BTW,
this should work for the C340, but I can't confirm this.

Did your 340 take all of the maps? All of US, all of Canada, plus all of
Alaska? Or did it ask you to choose one of the regions?

Drugs may be the road to nowhere, but at least they're the scenic route!
