Author Dumb question?: Present position on etrex Vista HCx

Hi everybody. I'm new to this group and just received my etrex Vista
HCx.

My problem is probably dumb and simple to solve. I can't find a page
that give me my current position. On the map page it "shows" the
current position, but the only position readout I see is the map
pointer position. My old Garmin GPS 12 had a page that showed
position, track bearing, rate and some other stuff.

Thanks in advance,

Doesn't the compass page show you that stuff?

The satellite screen should show your current location at the top.

Then, the map and compass screens each have selectable data fields,
one of which can be your current location. You have to first enable
data field display, then pick one and change its display value.

The data fields on the trip computer screen can also be changed to
display whatever value you like.

[snip]

The satellite screen is not in the page sequence as
the HCx is shipped but available in the main menu.
It can be added to the page sequence (and will be
removed from the main menu) with the "Page Seq."
function in the main menu.

Hi. I looked at the data fields and it seems like I can have almost
everything except for the map position. It is on the compass page
which I have added to my page sequence.

Thanks for the replies, everybody.
