Author 2008 maps for a new Vista HCX?

Folks,

I'm going to be replacing my lost Vista C with a new HCX. I'd been
using CITY SELECT NORTH AMERICA V6 with my old receiver.

Clearly it's time to upgrade. I see that there's a 2008 version out
now, but I'm not sure what is the proper product to buy, or if there's
anything actually available?

On Garmin's website the list of maps for the Vista HCX only has V8
shown. I see that there's also a GARMIN MAP UPDATE 2008 available for
sale, but I don't know if that works with the Vista, nor do I
understand if the word "update" refers to "updated for 2008" or
"update for owners of V8" or what?

I tried emailing Garmin support, but it's likely that by the time they
respond will be update Navigator 2009. 8)

So, I'm hoping folks can point me to the proper product.

Thanks!

For all the x units you can use regular city navigator or NT maps. I
have both types unlocked for my 60 CSx and you can do the same for the
vista HCx.

Just get the 2008 regular update 2008 CNNA disk and you can update
your CNNA version 6 to version 2008. You will have to get unlock code
for the vista HCx from myGarmin on garmins website for $75 dollars
once you register your new unit.
