Author Turn "City" points off navigator maps

Hi,

I have just loaded City Navigator Australia onto my GPS and have noticed the
following:
There are round dots on the map at each city.
In the larger City's (Brisbane) there are "City" dots for each suburb.
When I zoom out to 30 km or greater there are so many dots that they
dominate the map and all that can be seen is a mass of dots.
As these dots are on top no map detail (Streets) can be seen.
Even with the map detail set to less the screen is a mass of white dots.
When the map details is set to least the dots disappear but so do all roads,
not even the main highways.

Is there a way to turn the "City" dots off so that I can see the map details
below?

Any assistance will be appreciated.

Regards.

Sean

What GPS? Is there a "declutter" choice? Or a way to vary the detail
level with the zoom level?

The Declutter works great to simplify the zoomed out view on the
handhelds like my 76Cx.

Thanks Jack,
De-clutter works OK. Thought the road route numbers still reman and are
fairly large and can obscure for of he roads.

Lowering the mal details does not seem to help.

Thanks again.

Press Menu, choose Setup Map, and press enter. There are four icons
across the top of that menu, each as setting under it that further
control the level of detail and things like the zoom level that the
details will appear at, whether or not to display things like street
names, and for controlling the size of the fonts used in some of the
displays.

The User's Guide is good for a one time read through on that menu and
the setting there. They really have a lot to do with controlling the
things you are talking about.

The "power" of that model brings with it a lot of settings for
preferences and features. It takes a while to come to grip with them all.

For example, as you received it, it will display about 15 pages as you
cycle through presses of the Page button. I usually only have 8 or 9 of
those pages turned. It really simplifies use of it and I can access all
the other pages from the Main Menu (press the Menu button twice).

As an example, the display of pages is controlled by pressing,

Menu > Menu > Setup > Page Seq. and then selecting pages to be displayed
or not and you can also reorder the sequence in which the pages are
displayed.

It took me some weeks, even months, to get completely comfortable with
all the settings on the 76Cx.
