Well, I'm just about ready to jump from Magellan to Garman due to extremely
poor service.
Is there a $200-300 Garmin unit that seems to satisfy a lot of folks?

TIA

No unit will satisfy everyone. It would be helpful if you'd
elaborate on your uses.

Hiking?
Hunting?
Boating?
Driving?
Geocaching?
etc?

I absolutely love my GPSMAP 76CSx, but my needs are totally
different than someone just looking for road navigation.

Thanks; hadn't thought about that. The intended use would be road trips /
navigation.

Bill,

Take a look at the Nuvi 200W/250W/260W line for exceptional value. The 200W
staarts at about $235, and this "wide" line has the same map screen and
point-to-point directions as as the more expensive models.

If you want a basic unit, the NUVI 260 would be a candidate. It has built-
in maps for Canada and the US, and has text-to-speech guidance. You can
find it on sale for something like $250 to $270 on internet.

If you want more features, the price goes up from there.

No problem. If that is the intended use, you'd probably do
ok with a basic Nuvi. How high a model would depend on how
many "fancy" features you want and your wallet. ;-)
