Garmin Unlock Generator v1.3

This keygen will generate unlock codes both for device and locked maps
using Garmin format.

Instructions to generate device unlock code for GMXT:
----------------------------------------------------

1. Download and install Garmin Mobile XT.

2. Extract the archive to your storage card.

3. Insert your storage card into your PPC, when prompted, install the
application.

4. Launch GMXT, got to Settings -> About.

5. Make note of your "Card ID"

6. Launch the keygen, and type in your "Card ID" into the "Unit ID"
field.

7. Hit Generate button to generate device unlock key.

8. Copy (CTRL+C) your generated device unlock key to the clipboard.

9. Now open the Notepad and paste (CTRL+V) the key and save the file
as SW.UNL

10. Put your newly created file to your SD Card\Garmin directory and
restart GMXT.

Instructions to generate device unlock code for GMXT:
----------------------------------------------------

1. Launch the keygen and enter your 10# GPS Unit ID (or GMXR Card ID,
Unlock ESN).

2. Select Map product and hit the corresponding Generate button to
generate both Device & Map unlock key.

NOTE: If your map is not included in the Map product list, select
<custom mapset>, enter the corresponding MapID and hit OK.
If you are not sure about your MapID, install it first into the
MapSource, open regedit and browse for
one of the following keys:

& #91;HKEY_LOCAL_MACHI
NE\SOFTWARE\Garmin\M
apsource\Families\<YOUR
MAP>]

or

& #91;HKEY_LOCAL_MACHI
NE\SOFTWARE\Garmin\M
apsource\Product\<YOUR
MAP>]

and check the "ID" REG_BINARY. That is your MapID (in HEX). You
have to convert it
from HEX to decimal (do not forget to reverse the byte order
when coverting)

3. Hit Generate button to generate map unlock key.

4. Copy (CTRL+C) your generated map unlock key to the clipboard.

5. Open the Notepad again and paste (CTRL+V) the key and save the file
as GMAPSUPP.UNL

6. Put your newly created file to your SD Card\Garmin directory and
restart GMXT.

This keygen is also compatible with Garmin MapSource application. You
can use it to generate map unlock keys
for any Garmin GPS device and any map using Garmin IMG format.

It's difficult to help if you just say 'doesn't seem to work'. Would you
take a car in for repairs to a mechanic and just say 'It's broken - fix it.' ?

Did you have a gps connected, choose 'custom mapset', input the unit id
and product id code?

Yep.

and it didn't seem to work.

I wasn't complaining, and I had nothing else to add at the time, as I had
only spent about 20 minutes trying to sort it. I'll get back to it later
when I have more time. But, as I said, it doesn't _seem_ to work. I didn't
say it _didn't_ work. There could be a million things I'm doing wrong, and I
only have Euro CN 8 to try it on, all my other mapsets are unlocked
(legally).
I would like to unlock the V8 as I can then update my old SP3.

I'll try again and get back to you when I have a little time.

Daz.

1.3 is on thepiratebay.org

If the map you want isn't built in, it would appear you can add the
map ID string manually to work it out.

If I get chance, i'll try to confirm that my legit CS:EU unlock code
comes out the same as the one the util generates.

Did you figure out the map code and enter it, rather than relying on

Still doesn't work with CNNA8, the non NT map source.

- Went to the registry for CNNA8, found ID as hex "aa 00." Converted to
binary and entered as custom map in the keygen.
- In Mapsource, able to unlock CNNA8 map, but does not unlock it for the GPS
unit.

Any help? Thanks

Change the 0f 01 to 010f (note - no space). Use a scientific calculator
to change to the decimal equivalent. Or, d/l a trial copy of WenHex. Go to Tools

> Hex converter, input 010f and press 'enter'(answer is 271).

Bob L

Change the "aa 00" to "00aa"

Use the calculator that comes with windows -- click on "view" and set
"Scientific"

Put a dot in the "HEX" box and enter "aa" then put the dot in the
"DEC" box and read 170 decimal. Note that the calculator ignores
leading zeros.

Map ID 170 corresponds to US City Navigator V8.

Thanks for the quick lesson in hex to binary.

Attempted to unlock the US CN V8 for a 2610 on Mapsource, it won't allow me
to unlock it for the GPS device. The codes WILL only allow it to unlock the
maps within Mapsource only. Has anyone gotten it to unlock for their GPS
device? Thanks

Not many here are mind readers. It's difficult to help when what you've
ACTUALLY done is not known. Describe the steps you've taken (don't just say 'I
followed the directions').

Wouldn't it be quicker and easier to just shoplift the map from a store and
get the codes from there?

I have performed the following:

1) Opened the Garmin Unlock Generator 1.3 program
2) Input GPS Unit ID in the first box.
3) Clicked on "Generate" for the "Your GM XT device lock code" to generate a
code.
4) In "Select Map Product," scrolled down to "custom mapset" and entered
"170" for NA City Navigator 8 mapset as per hex code converted to decimal in
the Registry.
5) Clicked on "Generate" for the "Your map unlock code" to generate another
code.
6) Opened Mapsource.
7) Clicked on "Utilities" - "Unlock Maps" and "Unlock Wizard" is started.
8) Clicked on "Next"
9) Clicked on "Yes, I have a 25-character unlock code."
10) Input the generated codes from the keygen, and only unlocks the map
within Mapsource. Input either generated code, issue remains.
11) Upon copying the maps from Mapsource, states that Maps are not unlocked
for GPS device.

Anyone have any success with unlocking the maps for their GPS device?
Thanks

Actually everything works for City Navigator v8 North America.
Had map sitting on my PC for a while. Came across GUG v1.3 by
JetMouse
(thanks a lot!!!). Figured out map id (thanks guys!) plug in my eTrex
Legend HCx unit code, generated unlock code and you know what? Maps
for the whole Canada are just downloading to my GPS as I type... 4
more
minutes and I will let you know results.

Now, where to find City Navigator NT 2008? Or Europe v9

Shoplifting at the store carrying mapping software will not work
since
those maps and units are always locked. To go with the stockings over
the head and knife/gun/yourchoiceofweapon is not worth $150 cost of a
DVD.

Loading done. And you know what - it worked! YES!

Anybody with activation patch for Streets & Trips 2008?

I don't need any of them (already have CN 2008 came with my new Nuvi 680)
and don't care what you use them for (pay or not pay is your not my sin to
care), but I can tell you that *both* CN 2008 North America and v9 Europe
have always been waiting for you on Peer-2-Peer.

And I just saw someone was posting CN v9 Europe on some Usenet group few
hours ago ... and several others few weeks/months ago. I just don't have
any use for those.

I have a Garmin 10X and Mobile XT with South African Streetmaps on it.

JetMouse keygen is wary simple and do only work for some maps.
If you need key I can help out, but it's not for free.

I do make eval key to make sure it works. JetMouse can not make eval.

X-No-Archive:

Good job for posting this keygen in the garmin usenet forums. Now
you've made Garmin aware of it and they in turn will make it more
difficult to unlock their maps. It should've stayed in the private
crack forums where it belongs, away from Garmin.

You're a real stupid piece of shit! You didnt' think this through.
All you did was bring attention on this and sabatoged this and future
cracks... you're a real XXXXen moron and an XXXXXXX.

<bg>

It's just too stupid for me to resist.

Do you work for the secret service or the government in making codes as
it seems only you know what you're trying to say.
