| Hi
im traveling to SouthAfrica soon and want to use my Nüvi200.
I have downloaded this:
http://torrentportal.com/details/16...Streetm
a
ps%2C+Topo+%26+Rec+V
ersion+1.5.rar.torrent
How do i get this into my Nüvi200?
Start the application? Connect the Nüvi to PC via USB?
And then what???
Can i store the map on a SD card or do i write-over my installed Swedish map? Will
the Nüvi use that map as soon i start it up in SouthAfrica?
Cheers / M

The above file is just a small file that a bit torrent file transfer
program can use to find the very large mapsource file.
Once your file transfer program gets the "rar" file which is a
compressed version of the mapsource file you have to decompress
the mapsource file locally at your computer.
You'll probably end up with a "iso" file that you'll have to burn to a
DVD
You can then load your mapsource into the nuvi if your nuvi has a
large enough memory card to hold it. You'll need a 25 character
unlock code.
You choose which map to use on the menu of the nuvi.

| Great stuff - thanks for the quick answer.
I know all about Torrentz and so on - but thanks anyway.
So this is my conclusion.
1. I install program
2. Connect GPS with USB
3. Have a SD card (1gig) in GPS
4. Transfer map with help from MapSource-software to the GPS/SD
5. Then, when i start up in SouthAfrica i can choose which map i wanna use.
6. Done???? It will work???
Is this correct?
Thanks again :)

From the Mapsource program send it to the SD card, either in the gps
or in your card reader/writer.
If the map is larger than 1 gig you'll have to select a smaller
portion of the map to send.
The above step takes a long time...hours. You'll need a "unlock code"
from Garmin in order for your gps unit to verify a licensed copy of
the map.
>5. Then, when i start up in SouthAfrica i can choose which map i wanna use.
On my StreetPilot it's.... Settings\Map\Map Info\ put a check in the
map you want to use

It should work. I can't remember exactly how the unlock code works but
you can get a legit unlock code from Garmin when you purchase the
unit. As far as I know, maybe someone can correct me, you can use that
same unlock code for any map you can find. Euro/USA/Swe/Afr ect.

Hi t......@muscks.net
I am quite attracted by your answers and proficiency. I aam getting
more than crazy for 3 weeks already and need an effective help, which
make the matter of this chat with you.
I am living in Prague / Czech Republic, I went for a trip in Holland
where I bought a new Garmin Nuvi 300 with Benelux map included. In the
box I didn t found a Cd with mapsource but have the yellow coupon with
the 25 digits code which I used on the product registration through
www.garmin.com
1- I bought a 2 giga cards, as I am new I didn t know that I needed
the Garmin City Navigator Europe NT V9. I downloaded it from
rapdishare I think then installed it through mapsender20. I ve got the
Europe map but some places were bad and what was VERY STRANGE, that
when I click on my GPS on adresses, I couldn t select any country
which means that the GPS is useless in this case.
2- Later on I discovered that I had to upload it via Mapsource.exe
which after downloading it from www.garmin.com I had troubles with the
register. Later on I came to find a software named mapsource fix
which fixed these issues.
3-I tried to upload via the img files (more than 2000 one) to the SD
card but I get the following error message from mapsource saying that
the maps are not supported by mapsource....
4- Via Utorrens I downloaded Garmin City Navigator Europe NT V9 1.26
GIGA but I got a white icone file!!! My friend did the same for me
from his computer and told me that he got an ISO file. I don t know
what to do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!111
I have the GPS brand new + memory card SD 2 G + a torrent which I
ignore the file type of 1.26 + mapsource working =3D I can t use my GPS
and I need to travel by car to Italy on Friday night for working :(
Could you please help me and tell what shall I do to make it
functional .
thank you very muc.

Curious....does this actually work? I never heard anyone ever being
successful in breaking Garmin's unlock code scheme. In good conscience
though, I could never use pirated software. BTW, what's Utorrens?
