I've just bought an Edge 305 w/ heart rate & cadence sensor. Waiting for
delivery which is due 02/02/08. Has anyone had experience with this unit?

Thanks

Yes, had mine some 3 months now. Bought extra sensors for other bikes too. Works
well, but you have to manually tell it which bike you will be riding else it
cannot sense the cadence sensor. I use it on my road bike & my two mountain
bikes, no issues with vibration as I did with my Garmin GPSMap 60CSx.

Battery charge lasts about 12 hours, more than enough for my needs. HRM sensor
is the most reliable I've used yet.

Interface is a little counter-intuitive, and the Garmin Training Centre is
buggy, but as long as you back up your data frequently you shouldn't lose data.

In short, could be better but I like it & it's good value for money.

I just got a Forerunner 205 and it's charging as I type. I haven't
installed/used this application yet, but I've read good things about
SportTracks as an alternative to Garmin Training Center. You can find it
at:

http://www.zonefivesoftware.com/SportTracks/

My plan is to install both Training Center and SportTracks then import data
to both. Then I can pick which one I like better (and probably keep the
other for data backup).
