Author problems with my etrex venture cx

Hello,

During a beautiful winterday this weekend i decided to have a nice
walk through the snow with my girlfriend. To make sure i could find my
car back, i switched on my etrex venture cx (after having it stored
without batteries for about 4-5 months). For one or another reason it
was not able to find any satellites. This was odd, since we were
actually on high ground, with a open view to the sky. I went to the
diagnostics screen, but the batteries still give 2.9 volts.

Does anyone recognize this problem?

all best, Marco

I have same problem with my old mono Legend... It is clock problem,
you have to restart searching for satellites from new location.

You probably need to go through the "new" turn on procedure. Set it
where it can look at the sky for about 15 to 20 minutes. It has to go
through a process to find the Sats and set the date and time, (that
can take several minutes), and then it can download a new almanac,
which can take another 12 minutes or so.
