Just bought a new car and when I use the cd player it blocks the gps from
recieving the sat signals, only when I switch to radio or turn the stereo
off does the gps recieve the sat signal and resume normal functions. Has
anyone else experience this and is there any fix other than not playing a
cd?

I have a c340 and never had a problem like that. You may have to move the
unit away from the radio.
You could get an external antenna for it. I would try locating somewhere
else in the car first to see if that eliminates the problem.

Actually this is a Kia CD/Radio/MP3/USB system. I was surprised to find on
the web that this is not uncommon to this type of system regardless of the
make or model. As suggested the only thing that might be done is to shield
it some way or by using the external antenna. The only thing that is
unknown at this time is what is the strength of the interference and will
the problem be solved by just attaching the antenna?
