Is it possible to input coordinates directly to the unit? I have looked and
it does not seem to be simple or I am missing something.. :(

Thanks, Bob

Do you mean create a waypoint by entering the latitude and longitude by
hand?

Yes, but it's really tedious.

On the map screen, press and hold the "Enter" (MARK) button 'til the
"Mark Waypoint" screen pops up.

Then, using the cursor button, navigate to the "Location" box which
already has the lat/lon of the automatically generated waypoint.

Press "Enter" again and a little window with numbers and arrows will pop
up. Use these to enter the coordinates, one digit at a time.

Lots of fun, I'll bet.

Thanks Bert, I was afraid that might be the case...

To create and edit the coordinates on a waypoint is the fastest way to
do it from the GPS receiver. If you need to do a number of them you
might find it easier to do the same thing from MapSource and then upload
the waypoints.

Thanks Jack, yes that would work in some cases, although it won't work for
what we need . The scenario is that coordinates are left at several
different locations. So we need to be able to input at each location to get
to the final destination with speed and accuracy... Just a little game our
local amateur radio club devised for entertainment.

I use a map 60, inputting the coordinates does is not a simple as with a
large keyboard.
But while going from waypoint to waypoint, using the Mark button and
altering the last
few digits for each coordinate works fairly fast. For most games only the
last few
coordinates change from location to location. You can not enter the
coordinates with
several strokes in a second, but when used to the system it takes only a few
seconds to
alter the last few numbers. So for playing games the entering method is
sufficient.

Use mark, or reuse your last coordinate.

Thanks Ben, that is a great solution.
