Author Unlock question!

I just purchased an accessory for a 76 CSx which included CN v8 and
unlocked it, called Garmin this morning and had no problem getting an
upgrade to CN 2008 ( an upgrade DVD and unlock code is ordered and on the
way). My question is since I really don't need the upgrade would it make
sense to wait until late summer when a new version should arrive and unlock
at that time and get the new version... Hope this makes sense as I don't
wish to do anything illegal.

Thanks, Bob

Ahem. I don't think it works like that.

Otherwise, let me find the copy of Windows 95 I never installed and ask for
an upgrade to Vista ;)

What I tried to say is "it would only be appropriate for a vendor to replace
the included software with the latest version for those units that have been
sitting on a shelf since 2006" - as your case indicates.

But that's it - you got the latest version as of TODAY. You got it due to
the fact you got a grossly outdated version the first time around - but
that's it. You can't go back and say "ah, BTW: I wanted the 2009 version, so
I didn't install it".

But looks like you don't care one way or the other - so, wait and tell us
how it worked out, 3/4 months from now ;)
