City Nav v8 (not NT) - Any Newer?

| I'm still using the 2610 with City Nav v8 (obviously not the NT
version). Maybe I haven't looked hard enough but are there any newer
non-NT versions out yet? I still think the 2610 rivals the NUVI
software so I'd like to keep it but the data is getting old I'm sure.
Thanks!

City Navigator North America 2008 became available last year and
version 8 came out in 2006.

Thanks for the tip...I hope the next version fixes it but then again
Garmin isn't as good as they used to be in supporting their 'older'
products. Even the unit firmware updates seem to stop after a year or
so when products come out. I remember their original products (like
the GPS III) were supported for a couple of years but no more! A year
at best. Guess they a) have too many products now and b) want you to
keep buying the new stuff.
Thanks again!

I upgraded my 2720 from CNNA 8 to CNNA 2008 and
there are definitely changes in some areas I
drive. But it does take some effort to find them,
since I live and mostly drive in an urban area
with few new streets and such.
I find the 2720 meets all my needs today, and love
the screen visibility in my bright So Calif
daytime driving conditions. Huge improvement
(particularly in map capacity and computation
speed) over the Street Pilot III it replaced.
Likely new units have the new more sensitive
receivers .. a plus when driving in downtown
canyons; but the 2720 does seem better than my SP
III in that regard, too.

I also have a 2720, now it is discontinued it is at a bargain price.
I have nor seen mentioned (tho I may have been "Asleep at the wheel")
that Garmin released a Firmware update for this unit in January. What
got my
attention was the "Improved GPS satellite acquisition time". Well let
me tell
you, it works. The improvement is outstanding, I can get a navigation
lock
before I get out of my driveway. Thank you Garmin for such an
enhancement
to a discontined unit.
